The P229 Elite Compact model take the same features common to all Elite series pistols and combine them with the ergonomic one-piece grips. The P229 Elite Compact builds on the exceptional reputation of out-of-the-box accuracy with the addition of SIG’s Short Reset Trigger or SRT. The SRT provides you the same great safety and smooth action of the SIG DA/SA with a comfortable short reset for faster trigger return and surgical control during high speed shooting. The P229 Elite Compact features a Beavertail frame, front strap checking and comes with SIGLITE Night Sights, and new to 2024, optics ready standard out of the box.

This firearm is not available with a manual safety. A manual safety – when engaged – is designed to mechanically prevent the firearm from discharging when the trigger is pressed, either intentionally or unintentionally. You should consider whether a manual safety on a handgun is right for you based on your experience level and intended use, keeping in mind best practices for safe firearms handling. It is possible for the trigger to be unintentionally pressed even under normal handling circumstances.

A manual safety is designed to augment, not replace, safe firearm handling practices. You are responsible to protect against unintentional trigger movement while carrying any firearm. If you have a round in the chamber and the trigger is pressed to the rear, the pistol will fire, absent an engaged manual safety.
