After one of the most rigorous and highly competitive review processes in the history of military firearms, the SIG SAUER M17 was awarded the Modular Handgun System (MHS) contract for the U.S. Army. The M17 is a P320-based platform, and was selected for its uniquely innovative modularity, uncompromising performance, and unmatched capability. The P320-M17 closely follows the specifications of the U.S. Army’s M17.
“It was truly an honor for SIG SAUER to be chosen as the U.S. Army’s choice with the M17. When the selection was announced, civilian interest in the pistol was immediate,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, SIG SAUER, Inc. “We are proud to bring this P320-M17 to the marketplace to meet the substantial civilian interest, and the high demand, to own the pistol the Army uses as well as the other branches of the U.S. Military.”
The P320-M17 is a 9mm, striker-fired pistol and comes with one (1) 17-round magazine and two (2) 21-round magazines. The pistol features a coyote-tan PVD coated stainless steel slide with the same optic cut as specified by the MHS contract, and black controls just like the pistols currently being shipped to the U.S. Army; it comes equipped with a SIGLITE front night sight and removable Night Sight rear plate. The P320-M17 features a coyote-tan carry-length grip module, available in three sizes, and comes standard with a manual safety. Non-Manual-safety models are also available (320F-9-M17).
*PLEASE NOTE*
The optic cut on the P320-M17 guns are cut per the MHS contract, thus are not compatible with the ROMEO1 but is compatible with the ROMEO1 PRO.
320F-9-M17 (no manual safety)
320F-9-M17-MS (manual safety included)
This firearm is equipped with a manual safety. A manual safety – when engaged – is designed to mechanically prevent the firearm from discharging when the trigger is pressed, either intentionally or unintentionally. You should consider whether a manual safety on a handgun is right for you based on your experience level and intended use, keeping in mind best practices for safe firearms handling. It is possible for the trigger to be unintentionally pressed even under normal handling circumstances.
A manual safety is designed to augment, not replace, safe firearm handling practices. You are responsible to protect against unintentional trigger movement while carrying any firearm. Even if you elect to purchase a pistol equipped with a manual safety, you must ensure that the trigger is not contacted in any circumstance other than when you intend to fire the pistol, particularly if you elect to carry your pistol with a round in the chamber. If you have a round in the chamber and the trigger is pressed to the rear, the pistol will fire, absent an engaged manual safety.

KAC’s Pressure Reduction Technology (PRT) Signature Reduction Device line blends the proven durability and acoustic performance of the previous generation of KAC suppressors with pressure reduction design.
These suppressors are specifically engineered to release the majority of the pressure contained in the device and bore prior to the operating system beginning extraction, which significantly reduces the negative effects of suppressor integration, and reduces felt recoil compared to a traditional suppressor with the same level of sound reduction.
Muzzle flash, and specifically first-round flash, has also been directly addressed and minimized with the PRT design. The Quick Disconnect (QDC) mounting method ensures reduced carbon-lock, as well as minimal but repeatable point of impact shift when transitioning between suppressed and unsuppressed configurations.
For interval maintenance, the PRT devices can be cleaned with commonly used bore solvents or ultrasonic tank cleaning with a water rinse.
The Knight’s Armament 5.56 QDC/CRS-PRT connects to all 5.56 QDC Muzzle Devices.
